last night, mike mailed his thesis to his committee.
the 290-page document (he was disappointed that it didn't make 300), took six years of work, six weeks of writing and two days of frantic editing and re-editing and re-re-editing.
i couldn't help in the lab and i couldn't help with the writing, but i did try to make myself useful with the editing. mike would print and edit his pages and i would make the necessary changes on the computer. turns out, we work pretty well together. granted, it probably helped that i was suffering from a nasty cold and had lost my voice...
at any rate, all mike has to do now is defend his thesis (next week wednesday, in case you want to send out good vibes) and then he'll be done with grad school and on to the real world.
let's hope it's as good as he thinks it's going to be.
