one thing i'm going to miss about being a children's librarian is telling people that i'm a children's librarian. they always have a reaction to it.

some of them say it must be a great job (it is) and some say they wouldn't be able to handle working with kids (and sometimes i agree) and some have great stories about the librarians that they loved when they were kids.

what i was not prepared for, though, was this: "you're a children's librarian?? who do you think would win in a fight: corduroy or paddington bear?"

(my money's on corduroy who goes for what he wants. and who knows what violent altercation caused him to lose a button in the first place? on the other hand, maybe paddington's innocent looking blue raincoat is a strategic fake-out....)
