things that i am in love with right now:

1 - jen lancaster. the every snarky and amusing author of "bitter is the new black" was at a borders near me last night and i went to see her. she was loads of fun and actually talked to me while she signed my books - about "top chef" and jennifer weiner, of all things, but it was still fun. and i'm really enjoying her new book called "such a pretty fat" about her quest to lose weight and why weight watcher's meetings make her roll her eyes (i can totally relate).

2 - the fruit stand guys on my corner. not only are they directly in my path as i'm walking home, but they sell fresh fruit at prices that you just can't find anywhere else. on my way to work, i buy an orange for lunch. on my way home, i buy two boxes of raspberries for dinner. it's also great to be able to buy in small quantities since someone's husband is not the biggest fruit fan. (not MY husband, i just meant in case someone's husband somehwere.... ok, so he doesn't like fruit. and this way it doesn't rot in my fridge)

3 - mango lassis. i had a horrible day the other day and mike brought home a mango lassi for me with no prompting whatsoever. in fact, i didn't even know i needed it until he placed it in my hands and suddenly things were brighter.

4 - my guitar. i've picked it up again and while i will never get to go to blue lake based on my skills, i am considering bringing it to work to spice up our story times. that could be interesting.

5 - the bear claw tattoo on my chest. the other day, dim sum finally came out from under the bed of her own will. she not only let me hold her, but she PURRED. it was a great sound. of course, then mike came in the door and she freaked out and scrambled over my shoulder leaving several scratches on my chest that look like bear claws. oh, well. i think the lesson here is not to wear such low-cut shirts. cause i think asking mike to never enter the room probably won't go very well.
