i have found a michael's craft store that i can get to by simply riding two subways (getting anywhere without two forms of transportation or transfers is just not a possibility in this city). this does not bode well for our bank account.
on a totally unrelated note i have also decided to get a degree in children's literature. so far, the best option is in boston. it's going to be quite a commute.

:) Boston is a mere Amtrak away. More seriously, would NYU, Columbia, or CUNY have anything worth looking at? Or am I being presumptuous, you having looked at them already?
