que conste (loose translation: let it be known): mike is the coolest husband ever.
today he took the afternoon off from work and came to the library to perform chemistry tricks for the kids. he lit things on fire, froze things with liquid nitrogen, blew up balloons using solid carbon dioxide, and helped the kids make slime (color of their own choice). the kids loved him and (almost) nobody got hurt. we will be doing this program again this summer.
in other library news, i did find a story to tell this morning. it was an irish story about a night demon who comes for a lazy good for nothing lad. the lad outsmarts him, of course, and all ends well. afterwards, one of the other librarians told me that she had been really caught up in the story and that i looked irish so i should tell lots of irish stories. irish? me? ok. why not. at least she liked my story.

I love this entry! (Actually, I love all of them!) And even though I think I have the best husband in the whole world, I agree with you...Mike is the coolest!
You? Looking Irish? What is mother to think of that?
alright. 'fess up. who has the best husband in the world? mike and i have been trying to guess who you might be for five minutes.
Hey, I resemble that remark! It's actually our wives who bring out the best in us. Right?
:) Freezing things with liquid nitrogen? Mike = TEH AWESOME !
... that's netspeak for "really cool." Also really cool is your selection of "Holes" as a favorite book. Every time I reread it, I fall in love with it a little more.
Speaking of classic kid's lit, have you seen "Bridge to Terbithia"? If so, travesty or excellent? If not, do you plan to?
