well, i have been immortalized and i'm only 25. this week i recorded the message for our library so whenever anyone calls they get to hear my voice saying "thank you for calling..." apparently, my boss says i sound very welcoming. mike says i sound like i'm smiling. i was, but mostly because in my first attempt i accidentally stumbled on the word "tuesday" and said "damn it!" into the recording and was laughing at myself as i recorded over it. the custodian says that people are going to be curious as to who the voice is, but so far no fans have come through the door.

this saturday, i went to a children/young adult conference where i met some wonderful authors who signed all my books and let me gush at them. i'm sure any one of you would have been much more professional, but i was just so excited to talk to them about their stories. they were very kind and amazing and talked to me about their stories and now i have lots of great books signed to me! yay me! (and yay them!)

went to jersey this weekend ostensibly for the super bowl, but seeing as we left during halftime (hey! it's a long way back to manhattan!), we were hardly there for the game. there were, in fact, about nine or ten of us at johnmark's and only he seemed to actually care what happened. the rest of us were more interested in the snacks and the conversations about chemistry and tv shows and whatever else distracted us. we did see some pretty fun commercials, though, for whatever that's worth.

now we are back and trying to apologize to our kittens for leaving them by petting them a lot. we'll see how that goes.
