reasons i have the best husband in the world:

- he bought me surprise tickets to the indigo girls. while the surprise thing didn't really work out, the show itself was amazing and he still led me there with lots of neat treasure hunt clues (the first clue miraculously appeared on my desk at work and i got to visit the new york public library and find a clue in a book). and the indigo girls sang "power of two" (our wedding song) and i cried like a freak so it was great. (really. that wasn't sarcasm).

- he not only allowed me to take an impromptu trip to champaign to see our grad school friends, he came with me. i was very glad about this especially after a few hours of waiting on the airplane for it to take off, an arrival four hours later than we had planned, a car rental at 3 a.m. and arriving in champaign at 5:30 in the morning and calling through bill and gretchen's window to wake them up.

lovely weekend. we saw several friends, relaxed, and i didn't do any work for the library. it was wonderful.
