last year (by that i mean 2006), mike and i celebrated new year's eve in our apartment with our cats. we camped out in the living room (tent and everything!) and drank sparkling juice at midnight. it was fun, but it also gave us time to think about new year's resolutions. give us a break - it can be a long time to midnight!

so here are the ones i'm choosing to share with you. mostly because they are the ones we actually did something about.

1. make friends in new york.

check! this year we made connections with several people, had lots of dinner parties, and introduced our favorite board games. and this year on new years eve, we had some of these people over! and midnight came much more quickly.

2. find a church.

check! we have joined a small group of people who are planning on starting a christian reformed church in manhattan. we are enjoying their company and growing as a group - with good things planned for this year too! - and this sunday we are helping lead worship!

3. make healthier meals.

well. i'm making mike eat more fruit. and we're trying to eat more vegetables (we can buy green beans for a really good price in chinatown!) and such. only so so on this one, i guess.

this year, as aforementioned, we had people over. we didn't make any resolutions. but if i could be assured of such success with new resolutions, i might go for it... hmm...

Is that the guy that I sent you contact info for (small group starting CRC church)?

Congrats on completing all of the resolutions. I have resolved a long time back not to make any New Year resolutions. I've completed that resolution every year ;).
