had a slight moment of panic the other day when my ankle swelled and heated up - both signs of infection according to my extensive experience with my knee. we went in to the clinic to have them check it and they said it was only soft tissue swelling. hopefully, they are right. it looks a lot more normal now and has cooled off, so we're back to watching it with eagle or hawk or appropriate bird eyes. if it's not better in a week, we'll go back in.

it has been a month since i applied to the new york public library and i have yet to hear anything. i have, however, heard twice from the mary kay lady that gave me and laura free makeovers last week. i think she wants us to join the program (although you would think she would understand what we are like when she asked "before we start, does anyone need to wipe off any makeup?" and we laughed hysterically). still, i think the wheels are turning over at nypl, at least according to my friend with connections. let's hope they start turning in my direction soon.

this weekend we went to a drive-in movie theatre to see, ostensibly enough, "cars" the new animated pixar film. those drive-in theatres are great - although not quite as good for making out as the old movies would have you believe! (tee hee)

storytime again this week. i'm probably going to try the very simple dance to do again and maybe add some more songs where you spin till you fall down. preschoolers love that.

i have decided not to start packing until june 24th when my full time ends at the library. you can all be very proud of me. and mike can eat off normal plates longer.

No, that's not the only way I remember you. But I figured it would get your attention, and since I'm not in the habit of dropping my name all over the internet (as I am a reporter and posting my name and opinions online might pose problems), that's what I used. I'm not really famous, though. Just in my mom's eyes, and maybe my 9-year-old cousin whose school corporation I cover. Yeah, I'm famous when I'm covering a school, in that abstract way that all children love reporters.

So you're moving, eh? Sounds like an adventure indeed.

You could e-mail me at [firstnamelastname]2003 at yahoo.com sometime, if you're interested.
