i think i might have missed my calling in life. last weekend i went to new jersey with laura to find a wedding dress for her. after an hour of trying on dresses, exclaiming over the pretty ones (all of them) and finally finding one we really liked (yay!) we were leaving the store when the manager stopped me and handed me an application. "i saw you out there - you have a knack for this. if you ever want to work part time, give me a call."
it's nice to know that if i stop being a librarian, i could always start working with pretty dresses!
also of note: johnmark is the one who has the car in jersey so he had to drive us out to david's to try the dresses on. get this: he thought we would be wedding dress shopping all day and he still agreed to take us. now that's love.
oh! and he took us to costco, too, where we all oooohed and aaaaahed over the prices and bought a ridiculous amount of cheese (don't laugh - you have no idea how expensive that stuff is here). we buy most of our groceries online from fresh direct, but now we might have to set up a system where we make it out to costco occasionally and buy stuff in bulk.
i got my first adulatory drawing today. one of the little girls at the library drew a picture of me working at the computer. despite my hair being more on one side of my head than the other, i looked pretty good. the girl has talent.
celebrity sighting: lance armstrong. he came to sloan to talk about cancer and promote the building, etc. mike claims that lance looks, walks, and talks like corey (mike's brother). *insert witty comment here*

Did Mike get a chance to shake Lance's hand?

Hi Laura and Mike, I am enjoying reading your blog, and your brothers. How exciting to live in NYC. We had a nice time having dinner last Sunday at Miriams. We have had two kittens living with us for the past few weeks. They are going to be working cats very soon. They are going to go to Stan's bird seed business to get any mice that might come. They are so cute, and I don't really love cats that much. They drive Spencer crazy. Glad you are enjoying your work. I love my job too. We are fortunate people, aren't we. Mieke is going to Honduras this Jan with me, so excited about that. Keep writing, Take care, Love Aunt Deb
