this week's new york experiences:

1 - the long bike ride. mike and johnmark went for a 75 mile bike ride through four of the five boroughs (manhattan, queens, brooklyn, and the bronx) on sunday. this is them beforehand (at 5:45 a.m.):

this is them 11 hours later.

except for looking a little less exuberant, they don't look too bad, do they? of course, you can't see them walking like cowboys.

2 - tasti d lite. this is a concoction that is almost but not entirely unlike ice cream. it's incredibly low fat and low carb and low whatever else you might think of that is bad for you. it tastes like ice cream when you first put it in your mouth, but then it melts away like ice and leaves no taste in your mouth whatsoever. it's very strange, but yet we ate it all. go figure.

3 - new york fashion week. i have yet to attend any of these events, because, as the newspaper said today: fashion are rules made up by women to make other women miserable. still, it's interesting to read what has been showcased - although it seems i need more leggings and some plaid in my closet. huh.

4 - i traveled up to the bronx to get a book from the nypl. consequently, i now have a new york public library card. it's too bad i couldn't have an nypl JOB, but i'm happy where i am now.

speaking of my job, tomorrow i do my first spanish storytime at the library. wish me luck.
