last night we went to a comedy club. the cover was only five dollars, but there was a drink minimum of ten dollars so we were standing outside the door of the club waffling when one of the girls came out and offered to give us a discount - the five of us would only pay ten bucks total to get in. i was a little concerned that she was so desperate to get people in, but in the end the show was pretty funny. at least the nine audience members who were there thought so.

celebrity sighting: one of the other audience members is on a soap opera. none of us recognized her (clearly, we all have day jobs).

we also went to a greek restaurant last night where we ordered several appetizers and shared those around. while we waited, the waiters brought out several dishes that they subsequently lit on fire before serving. hence johnmark's order: "i want whatever you are setting on fire."

one thing i love about my job: you never know what's going to happen or what people are going to ask you. every day is different. yesterday, a woman stopped me and said "you remind me of someone. she's pretty." twenty-four hours later, i still don't know if that was a compliment.

p.s. mike and i met marie for dessert last weekend. so far, she has been our only visitor and she didn't have time to see our apartment! you should all come visit. if only for the benefit of having kitten gnaw on your toes.
