happy easter! or, if you prefer: he is risen! (he is risen indeed).

we had a lovely service and meal downtown (thank you, city fellowship!) but the real drama occurred this morning when i tried to find something easter-y to wear. it turns out that i have no bright spring color clothes. all my dresses are black. maybe i've finally found something i can legitimately blame on my mother.

it was a beautiful day in new york city. through a series of circumstances, mike and i ended up on roosevelt island. i've been here over a year and a half and i've never taken the tram. so, that's what we did.

and a closer-up of mike's building. (it's the one that looks like it's woven)

this week, my father sent me some lovely pictures of last christmas. if you have ever seen pictures of me and mike, you know that he invariably looks cute while it's a toss-up whether i will look ok or like the living dead. i include this picture as the only only time where the camera did not catch mike looking terrific. so, of course, i have to show it to you.

hehe. I like the picture. Debbie and I are not very photogenic, so I have decided that both of us should never be in a picture together if you want it to look nice.

Which is also why we have so many pictures of our cats. They always manage to look cure somehow.
