every day, on my way home, i pass a tiny pizza place. they usually have garlic knots in the window, which are tempting, but ever since some new york friends introduced us to white pizza, i've been trying to find a slice that i liked.
white pizza, for those of you who don't know, is pizza without tomato sauce. it has ricotta cheese (i think) or some other type of cheese and that's all.
at any rate, i decided tonight that i would try a slice of their white pizza. so i walked in and ordered.
weirdly enough, the pizza guy kept talking to me as if he knew me. "long time no see" and "where have you been?" and "how's everything going for you" and "adjusting to the city?" were all part of the conversation. i'm not sure if i look like someone he knows or if he has been watching me walk by every day (which would be kinda creepy).
for the record, i don't remember ever seeing him and i've been in the city for two years. if i'm not adjusted by now, it ain't never gonna happen.
p.s. the white pizza was good.
