mike and i biked to church on sunday.
on our way out, mike put his helmet on to ride in the elevator.
"you look silly," i told him.
"do not," he cleverly countered.
"yuh huh," was my brilliant comeback.
mike suddenly turned to the lady in the elevator with us. "do i look silly??" he demanded.
there was a pause. and then she burst out laughing.

I've been known to wear my helmet in the supermarket check-out lane. (Hey, if I'm putting my groceries into the bag that used to hold my helmet, where else is there for it to go?) In these instances Bill makes comments about my "medical condition," the condition which necessitates me wearing a helmet everywhere I go. It's embarassing.
