new york city! center of the universe!!
we arrived last night after 15 hours of driving with three amazingly calm cats. charlotte cried for a little while at the beginning, but then they mostly slept the rest of the way. cats seemed to be wired like children are, however, and after sleeping the entire day the kitten felt the need to repeatedly gallop across the floor of the apartment at 5 a.m.
the apartment! for some reason, they carpeted the main room. mike and i are both disappointed by this, but not as disappointed as we are by the fact that they have taken away our air conditioners. the apartment was supposed to come with them and they are nowhere in sight. hmm...
our groceries were delivered this morning (we ordered them online before we left!) and now that we have secured a fan for ourselves we are certainly rocking this place. now we wait for it all to sink in...

Laura, I'm glad you all arrived safely. Work hard on getting them to return the AC units--the buggers! As for the main room, was it originally hardwood and now carpet, or nice carpet and now something hideous? But you are there! I wish you both the very best. David Suryk
