today is my father's birthday. everyone should be nice to him. warning: he'll try to stretch those rights to the next couple of days (weeks) but you should at least be nice today.

i haven't heard back from the library. this worries me a little, but i'm staying positive. laura and i visited the library yesterday and met the other children's librarian there. she is actually a young adult librarian who is now doing children's work. so clearly they would have to be very silly to not hire a real children's librarian.

have to cut this short. to keep kitten off the keyboard, i have to use one hand to move the string he is currently attacking and typing with one hand is rather tiresome.
