this weekend we went way downtown to see a puppet show/theater/music/dance extravaganza. it turned out to be the weirdest collection of performance art i have ever seen. the puppet part was a guy with a diamond-shaped little puppet with big ears that flew around for a bit with a soundtrack of whispering voices. after a certain point, we all wanted to know when they were going to release us back to the real world and that was when they gave us the finale: three girls in black slips jerking around the stage to a plucking bass who eventually pulled red cloth from under their dresses, taped it to their shirts and died. at least it was something different.

i get veteran's day off this week so i only have a four day week! i will probably spend all the spare time repainting the apartment - if mike and i can ever decide on a color. i wish a designer would come over, take a look around, and say "paint it this color!" and then all our problems would be solved.
