so i've finished harry potter. and now i have no one to discuss it with. (in case you were worried, no one, not even me, flipped to the end of the book to find anything out). kitten sat on the headboard of our bed and watched me read. when i looked up at him, he sneezed in my face. clearly, harry potter does not impress him. either that, or he was allergic to the blueberries he was trying to steal off my lap.

we had a good time at the party where we picked the book up, though! and when we walked down to the subway there were 12 people sitting on the bench and every single one was reading harry potter. it was a great sight.

speaking of sights in new york: while we were out on the streets of the lower east side last night, we saw a man? woman? in an orange lampshade-like suit and on stilts (hands and feet!) attempting to exit from a nearby bar by means of a very small door. one of my friends plays the "weirdest thing you saw today" game with her husband, and she said this was definitely her entry for the day. at that point, the orange thing decided to hug her, cementing her victory for her.
