tonight on the train i saw a girl looking through a binder. it had what appeared to be a three-hole punched magazine with lots of post-its all over it. then i realized that she was editing the magazine before publication. where else would you see that? and where else would the big-shot editing crew actually be riding the train? i enjoy being reminded that i live in this city, cause sometimes it's hard to believe.

on saturday, we met some friends for dim sum (sp?) in chinatown. i'd never had dim sum (still not sure how it's spelled) before, but i enjoyed it. i liked the ladies with carts offering us different stuff, the small bite-sized pieces of dough and meat and the sticky rice and the chopsticks.

i'm tired of trying to come up with preschool crafts for my kids. it's exhausting! how many different permutations of painting and sticking things to other things are there? i mean, really. and today for one of my programs, my five and six year olds were completely stymied by old maid. i gave up and we played musical chairs instead.
