the bultman family (sorry, mom) is two members smaller. both of mike's bikes have been stolen in the past month. while we weren't too sorry to see his beater bike go a few weeks ago, we are really regretting his good bike which rolled away (ha...) today.

now we're just picking up our emotional pieces, evaluating our lives and ... buying one new one.

mike is a man who needs two wheels and i love that about him.

p.s. mike resents me calling his bike a "beater." the correct term is: mountain bike. we apologize for the error.

I hate it when that happens. It definitely does have emotional consequences.

Just curious, what was the lock situation? Did someone cut through a full inch of kryptonite alloy? Lex Luthor perhaps?

And by the way, someone here wants to know why it can't be "the Bultman-Hoksbergen family."

Love, the Hoksbergen-Jordan family

Aw... Poor Mike. That's very sad. Here's a strange coincidence -- Jeremy and I were talking just last night about bikes being stolen at the lab and about Mike's bike in particular. Weird. Now I feel like we jinxed it or something. Except that I'm not superstitious. But still.

It was a beater in life..I suppose it is a mountain bike in death.

I am very sad to hear this news. Very sad indeed. As far as material objects are concerned, my bike is second only to my dvd collection. Mike will probably scoff at the notion, but you can certainly have my beater (and lock while your at it). In many ways you can see it as a favor to me since I am probably about to move to a smaller place. Hmm? Good. I will bring it in Sunday. ;-)
