let's see...
yesterday mike and i cleaned up the kitchen. we re-sorted and re-arranged and now it looks much better and will hopefully be more functional. our main problem is that i cook the food and mike washes the dishes. while that may not sound like a problem, it's complicated when one person knows where she wants the dishes and the other actually puts the dishes away.
while cleaning the kitchen, i also took time to clean my kitchen timer which is shaped like a chicken. i love this timer. when i went home a while back, my mom showed me her new kitchen timer and asked what i thought. i thought a timer shaped like a chicken is adorable and said so. she ended up giving me the timer at which point my dad commented: "she's giving you that timer? she loves that timer."
so now every time i set my chicken, i think: "my mom loves me."
our good friend johnmark has donated his beater bike to mike. we are really grateful for the wheels - and maybe mike will be more eager to get to work in the morning since he doesn't have to walk anymore.

Yay for cute kitchen timers. I have a ladybug one that Laura gave me.
Yay for mothers who love their daughters so much that they're willing to give up their cute chicken kitchen timers! :)
