we had all of our summer reading parties today. first the two and three year olds at 10 and then the four and five year olds at 11 and then everyone else at 2 p.m. i think i ate lunch somewhere in there, what with all the kids' food and "fun." and while i was running around, busting my ass and getting everything ready and then trying to keep control of all of the kids, two things happened that kept me sane.

one little girl leaned in the door when i was cleaning up the meeting room and said "that was fun!"

two little kids brought me roses.

and while these two incidents stand out to me, i gave out lots of prizes, got lots of smiles and it was generally very good.

not only that, but i survived my first summer reading club with my self still intact. that's gotta be worth something.
