this morning on my way in to work, i saw a guy wearing a very familiar t-shirt. dark blue. yellow letters. MICHIGAN.

i felt a sudden kinship with him.

i, however, was in cool new york clothes so there is no way he could have felt a kinship with me.

this must be the alienation they talk about. :-)

The same thing happened to me the one time I saw someone wearing an OU hat here. It was in a crowded bar and I contemplated heading over to say "hi" and "boomer sooner." Then I thought no...no that sounds gay. If I had been wearing something from OU I would have pointed at it, grunted so he could hear and then proceed with the approving nod.

I felt something similar years ago in Costa Rica when I saw a young man wearing a Calvin College T-shirt. I almost said something to him, but then realized he had probably either received the shirt as a gift or he had gotten it out of a bale of used clothing.
