there's one thing i didn't tell you about florida.

we went to busch gardens - a theme park/zoo/amusement park/safari adventure/rip-roaring good time.

we enjoyed the safari part (zebras are totally cool).

and the zoo part - though we can't figure out why the turtle has all his feet in the air.

the meerkats were my absolute favorites. i can't possibly convey how cute they are from this picture - you'll just have to trust me.

mike enjoyed the roller coasters - that's him in the red shirt going up in the coaster - and then emerging a bit more wobbly afterward.

what surprised me the most was how much money they tried to suck out of you ($70 admission! $3 for a 20 oz of diet pepsi!!) and how much money they put back into it. the place was clean. really really clean. the employees were unfailingly kind, friendly, helpful and smiley.

we saw a couple of the shows and you would not believe the production values. just the lights, sets, and costumes were incredible. one of the frog characters had this costume.

i also saw one of the animal shows. they had animals doing all sorts of things. they had trained cats. TRAINED CATS. i've never seen anything like it.

and, to top it off, they had a tiger made entirely of flowers. i think that pretty much sums it up.

Wow! What a lovely outing! Great pictures! Perhaps you should contact them again and ask if they offer classes on "How to train cats!" Are you sure their cats were real? TRAINED CATS sounds like an oxymoron to me if there ever was one!

I just watched the movie Junebug and Amy Adams' character in that movie's favorite animal is the meerkat. Random, I know.

I also agree that trained cats sounds like an oxymoron.

1) I am glad that you had some fun apart from the wedding stuff in Flordia.
2) I have seen that pose, it must be a fancy zoomusement park, because that is ADVANCED turtle yoga.
