take, for example, the saga of the white shirt. mike was standing up for johnmark at the wedding and while johnmark was providing the majority of the outfit (pants and white shirt), it was up to mike to bring a white t-shirt to go under it.
before we left, i asked: do you have a white shirt? did you pack the white shirt?
guess who arrived without a white shirt.
so the next day, we went to an outlet mall to get mike a white shirt.
getting ready for the wedding, i asked: do you have everything you need?
guess who forgot the white shirt. we ended up having to stop at a walgreens on the way to the ceremony, but he did have the shirt for the wedding.
this was indicative of our entire trip.
things that mike forgot:
a dress shirt for the rehearsal dinner (we got one at the outlet mall)
deodorant and toothpaste (we got some at at a walgreens)
he also left his hat and sunglasses at the wedding site and ended up having to buy new ones. he bought a new york one because i thought it was really funny that he would go all the way to florida to buy a new york hat. judging from his expression, i don't think he got the joke...
things that i forgot:
an extra bottle of insulin (laura ended up having to mail it to us)
and my wallet - unfortunately, this was lost in tampa somewhere and this particular problem could not be fixed.
the loss of my ID was the hardest part, especially because i had to fly and people at airports like IDs. ah well, who minds being patted down and having their luggage checked with a fine toothed comb? clearly not me.
this is what we learned about each other: mike is more likely to get sick, but his illnesses are easier to cure. i don't get sick very often, but when i do, it's serious.
