today, one of my ten-year old regulars informed me that she had been in d.c. for the inaguration.
"really? what did you see??" i asked.

"nothing, there were too many people."

"one day, you're going to look back and think it was pretty cool that your mother brought you there."

"no," she insisted. "it was just cold."

i guess that makes me the fool for watching it on my computer and crying.
