this is christmas day in the evening. dana is reading to lance (a book that we just got him!) and mike is reading to drew.
here are the two of us on new year's eve, drinking alcohol-removed champagne (no, really, we were - we'd never heard of it before, but that's what we found at the grocery store near us)
in regards to the novel: i've picked it back up. it won't be published next spring or anything, but maybe with some tweaking you can read it soonish (i've discovered that the characters i thought were two different people were actually just one person so i've got to figure out how to fix that).
it was snowing today in new york. i know that people are supposed to complain about the weather (i find we all fall into the trap of saying what is supposed to be funny - like borat learning mother-in-law jokes or how men are supposed to feel that marriage is hell or how everyone is supposed to wish they were on vacation), but i'm actually comforted by this cold weather. when it's 70 degrees in january, it just reinforces the fact that we are destroying the world and the environment and if the polar ice caps melt much more, this island i'm living on will be underwater. and mike and i only live on the second floor.

All agreed about the weather, but still...winter is not my favorite time! :)
