very relaxing weekend.

it was a gorgeous day on saturday (sunny and 70 degrees) so i went to kidnap mike from work and we went to central park to hang out on the rocks for a while. lots of people were out rollerblading and walking and rowing boats and with their dogs and it was almost pleasant enough to forget that it's january. and 70 degrees. which, frankly, makes me think that the world is coming to an end.

yesterday we all headed out to MoMA (museum of modern art) which had art by picasso, dali, and the usual strange art things you would expect. among our favorites: a large white room where the lights went out and came back on every five seconds, and several rooms of paintings that were just one solid color (think very very large paint samples).

frankly, i think the five felt monkeys and the crocodile that i made for my storytimes are way cuter. and way artsy. but i turned our lights on and off a couple of times last night just in case.
