these are the things we learned during tech week.

- going through tech week and planning two halloween parties will wear you out. or at least wear me out. but, after it's all over, the kids will still have had a blast crawling through the haunted tunnel (and they'll scream at all the appropriate moments). i'll definitely have to do that one next year. also, the kids will claim to not be scared by the scary stories you tell them (but their eyes during the story will tell you something different).

also, as a point of interest, you can make crescent roll dough look like bones. in case you ever needed to know that.

- if you aren't careful, you may come home and find that the bag of potatoes that you haven't finished yet is emitting a rather awful smell. not only that, but (brace yourself) when i picked up the bag, it actually splashed me. EW. EW. EW. EW. that's what comes from not actually being in the kitchen for ten days (they don't call it hell week for nothing, remember?) still, that experience gave me a whole new appreciation for what happened duing the irish potato famine.

- no matter how many cats you have to keep each other company, they will still get lonely if you don't spend enough time with them.

- if you ever have to do a frantic search for your lucky bandana by rifling through all your drawers, the clothes that you fling everywhere may end up staying wherever you fling them until the end of tech week.

- despite the state of your apartment, the loneliness of your cats, and the extra stress at work, you can still have two fun halloween parties and a fabulous opening weekend. cheers.
